We have been here at Outdoor Resort of the Ozarks since September 1st. Many of you know we own a RV spot in this resort. What a view from our spot. The sun is just starting to go down and is shining brightly on the hillside across the lake. The lake is as blue as saphires. Some of the leaves are just starting to turn shades of brown. Local people say there will not be much color in the leaves this year because of the heat and drought this year.
We just got back from a motorcycle ride to a small town call Leslie, 180 miles round trip. The day started out with fog and a temperature of 55 degrees, leathers were a must, but by afternoon it was sunny and in the 70's. Leslie has a bakery, Serenity Farm Bread (www.serenityfarmbread.us), that bakes bread on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. As we walked into the bakery they were just removing some bread from their brick oven. They start a fire in the brick oven every night before they bake. When the baker comes in at 2 or 3 a.m. he makes the fire bigger and it heats up the brick oven. Then they push all the hot coals from the oven and start cooking the bread. Some areas of the oven are hotter than others so the bread must be moved around during baking. We bought fresh Country French Hearth Bread, Cranberry-Pecan Bread, Banana Nut Whole Wheat Bread and Multi Grain Sourdough Bread. It is delicious bread and I think that will be our supper tonight.
We will be leaving here in one week and home to Minnesota by the 27th or 28th of the month. We are anxious to see everyone and renew relationships.
