The rain chased us away from the courts where we were playing pickle ball today. This game is new to Deer Creek. They have only been playing it for three weeks and there are a lot of people who are interested and who are enjoying it.

Yesterday we met our friends, Kevin and Nichole, in Tampa. Kevin is from Ohio then Texas then Arkansas where we met him. He is one of our motorcycling buddies in Arkansas. Kevin is staying at Mac Dill Air Force Base where retired military personnel can make a reservation to stay at their Family Camp. The base is on prime property on Tampa Bay. The campground is very close to the beach and what a view we had when walking along the beach. The sunset was superb.

They have clubhouses, activities, a bar and restaurant (on the beach) and all the fun things other RV parks have for $14 a night. We drove to St. Petersburg and had lunch outside on “The Pier”and also toured around Tampa. On a sadder note, we met a man named Ed at the New Years Eve party here. Him and his wife danced and did karaoke. He even came up to Pete and I, total strangers, and gave us a big hug when the party was over. He had a heart attack here and died last night before the paramedics even arrived. That's a wakeup call and just has to make us all realize how fragile life is and how every day is a gift from God. We thank God for each and every day.
