Our friends, Fred & Susan, from MN called us when they were traveling home last weekend. They have a coach just like ours, a 40 foot Newmar Dutch Star. They were by the Wisconsin Dells and it was 17 degrees. They had to stop every so often to scrape the ice off their window. Their friends, who were also in Florida, left for Minnesota the day after they did and were stuck in Tennessee in 4 inches of snow. We are sure glad we do not have to leave here until it is spring back home and all signs of snow are gone.

We go to church here every Sunday. It is called Deer Creek Campers Church. As if we are all camping. It is not affiliated with any special religion and is just a nice service which we enjoy.

Tuesday morning at 2:28 a.m. there was another Space Shuttle launched. We got up and went to the highest spot we could find here at Deer Creek and waited for the launch. We did see some gold light on the horizon but there was a light cloud cover and we did not see anything else. Our friend, Kevin was there, and said it was spectacular. These are his pictures. .

It is very special when it is launched at night because the colors are so vibrant. Well maybe there will be another time we can see a night launch

We had not heard anything from Disney and last week, after going to a small meeting here about Sea World, we decided to apply there for the Spring Break. We interviewed on Wednesday and were offered a job on the spot in their culinary area (cashiering or putting out food at one of their fast food places). We had to go across the street to take a drug test and when we got in our car to go to the testing place there was a message on our phone. Guess who it was?????? DISNEY!!!! They wanted to hire us and for us to come in the next day to do our paperwork. Well now we have a dilemma. If we don’t go for the drug test Sea World will think we are on drugs so we went for the drug test. They do urine, which tells them if a person has used in the last three days, and they do a hair test, which tells if a person has used in the last three months. I had no problem with the urine or hair test. But they had a hard time finding enough hairs on Pete. They need 120 hairs. They took hairs from under his arms and from his chest. They also told him not to be surprised if they needed more hairs because she was not sure they had gotten enough. Then Thursday we went to Disney and completed our paperwork, they took our fingerprints and we had a small orientation. We were offered a job in Attractions in Magic Kingdom in Tomorrow Land. So we will be helping with one of the rides. We had our first training today and will be going through more for the next two weeks. We will let you know how it is.

Dan had e-mailed us a while ago about a new movie called “Vantage Point” which was filmed in his city. It is a fictional story about the President of the US visiting the city of Salamanca in Spain (where Dan lives). We saw it yesterday. I liked it and Pete was so so with it. A lot of the scenes are shot in Salamanca and if you have or have not been there it really gives you a feel for the city. The Plaza in Salamanca is really like it shows but for the movie a mock up of the Plaza was made in Mexico. Like Dan says it would have been impossible to film it at the Plaza in Salamanca because it is such a hub of activity for the city. You can see a preview of the movie on the website http://www.vantagepoint-movie.com.

We saw Diesel at $3.99 a gallon here. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
