Today we had a Community Wide Yard Sale and as you can see we didn’t have much to sell but it was fun going around and looking at what others had. Pete bought a set of golf clubs, just like he has, to leave in Arkansas. That’s all!Lill, Ross, Megan and Andy came to
Florida this week to go to Disney. We had them over to see our place and then visited with mutual friends in another resort close by. We also went to Arabian Nights for Megan’s 20th birthday. We have been trying to do a lot of our own cooking. I take the time to cook more when we are in the coach. If we go to all the pot lucks and ice cream socials and out to eat in no time at all we will certainly put on pounds.
This week we tried Tina’s barbecue ribs. We got a slab of ribs, cut them up in four bone pieces and put them in our crock pot. We covered them in Cattleman’s Barbecue Sauce. We started them about 9 a.m. I suggested to Pete we invite someone over because we had so many. We set the crock pot on high and they were ready about 3 p.m. Next time we will set them on low and they should be ready around 5 p.m. It was a good thing we did not invite anyone over because we ate all but a small portion. They were good. Thanks Tina.
We also tried Tina’s Italian sausage patties. Before we left I got Bulk Italian Sausage at Cossetta’s on 7th Street in St. Paul. We made two ½ pound patties and fried them up. Pete put a patty between two pieces of bread and put Ragu’s spaghetti sauce on the patty. I had mine on a plate with sauce. It was great. Thanks again, Tina.
Does anyone else have any good, easy recipes for us?
One night last week we went for supper at a place called Cherry Pockets on Pierce Lake. It is a resort, restaurant and bar. I think the cabins there can be rented very inexpensively. It is the type of place the locals go to and it is not a place you would just drive by. We wanted to find it during the day so we can go there again and we did. We still have some of our memory power left, I guess. The lake has the most alligators of any lake in Florida, or so they say. We did not see any either time we were there. The food is great, I had a Grouper sandwich, and they have live music on the patio. Their bar is an old boat. If any of you come to Florida to visit us we will take you there.
