Happy Spring!!!! We know its spring because the fragrance from
the orange trees is so amazing. The
fragrance is especially good at night when the wind is calm and the weather
warm. Growing up in MN I have never
experienced anything like it.
We celebrated our 49th
wedding anniversary on February 6th. It just does not seem possible
that we have been married that long. We
still are friends, love each other and enjoy being with each other.
We have had a lot of
company. Tim, Laura, Sophia, Aubrey and
Bricelyn were here in February. We
stayed at Disney’s Art of Animation Hotel which caters to children with
characters from Lion King, Nemo, and Cars.
The princess luncheon was a big success with the girls. A great time was had by all.
Our friends John
& Kate Frye visited. They were
staying at the Gaylord hotel. I have
wanted to see this hotel for a long time and we were able to get 30 minutes to
look around (anything more would have cost us $18.00 just for parking).
Our high school friends Lisa & Gary and
Dick & Louise visited. At the time they
all were here I happened to fill in at a bowling tournament when a friend’s wife
was injured so I had a huge gallery.
My friend, Dan, and I won a gold medal for our age group. I guess it helps to have a gallery.
In addition to visiting the Plant
City Strawberry Festival and a day at Disney we were able to see Dick &
Louise’s granddaughter compete in a gymnastics competition. She won many awards for the performance we
saw.
Our Nieces son, Kyle
& his friend Morgan, visited for a day and we were happy to see them and
take them into Epcot for the day.
We also took time to
meet up with Lill, Ross and Andy at Busch Gardens near Tampa along with their friends Keith and Dana. We were not that impressed with Busch
Gardens. The animals were very nice but
really it just seemed to us a bigger version of a Zoo.
From Busch Gardens Pete and I met our friend,
Kevin, at the Mc Dill Air Force Base where we spent the night at the Mac Dill
Inn. The next day we saw the Twins play
the Yankees at the Yankee stadium in Tampa.
We were not real anxious to see the Twins, because of their record the
last few years, but we were pleasantly surprised when the Twins won the
game. We will wait and see how they do
when the REAL season starts.
We keep in touch with
Dan & Ana, Helena & Julia by WhatsApp, Skype and by phone. We also send pictures back and forth to keep
up with their busy lives. Dan is busy at
the University, Ana is recovering well from her broken ankle and will be back
to work soon, Helena is busy with her music and becoming an expert at
skateboarding,
and Julia (just turned 11) is also busy with music and
skateboarding and is now taking a painting class to become an artist (runs in
the Linder family).
We have been working
more this month of March than we have for the last couple of months. It is the
Flower and Garden show at Epcot as well as spring break for hundreds of schools
so the parks are busy. We do enjoy it.
