We are still here!!!

Happy New Year to All and we hope you all had a wonderful Christmas sharing with family and friends the joyous birth of Jesus Christ.

I can’t believe it has been almost 2 months since I have written.  You would think that two retired people would have lots of time, right? Wrong! Once you see what we have been up to I am sure you will see why I have not written.

We did drive to Fort Meyers December 6, 7 and 8 of 2014 for the Florida Senior Games.  We participated in the bowling portion.  I was invited to bowl with another woman in bowling doubles and on a woman’s team.  I also participated in singles and in mixed doubles with Pete.   We had many friends who also attended so it was just one happy weekend of bowling.  I did manage to come away with two silver medals and a bronze and Pete and I got a fourth place in our doubles play.  We are now qualified to participate in the National games this summer, if we want to participate.  They will be held in Minneapolis. While in Fort Meyers we visited dear friends, Lyn and Dennis.  We went to a restaurant on Estero Bay called Doc Ford’s.  The food was great and on the way out we purchased some books written by Randy Wayne White. His main character is Doc Ford.  They are very similar to the Lee Child books, mystery books with one main character who investigates the mysteries. Lee Child’s main character is Jack Reacher.  I do think the Jack Reacher books are a bit more interesting.

We were only home for 5 days and then left for Minnesota for 12 days of Christmas.  Even though it had only been 6 weeks since I was back to MN it was great to see everyone again. Especially the little granddaughters.  They all change so much in just a short time. When back in MN we were busy almost every single day.  We had breakfasts with friends one day and breakfast with our granddaughter, Corri, another. We went to a hockey game and dinner with friends.  We gave a shower for my godchild Kyle’s soon to be wife, Morgan, and then took Kyle and Morgan out to dinner the next night at the Lowell Inn in Stillwater because we missed their wedding in January.   We attended the Norske Torsk Christmas party where we ate our favorite meal of Torsk, white potatoes and butter.  We also had our office floor carpet in our condo replaced with wood looking tiles.  We had Tim and Laura and granddaughters over for chillyburgers one night which is the traditional Linder Christmas food. We also fit in a couple of doctor’s appointments.  We had our little Family Christmas Celebration at Tim’s where we were able to talk and see Dan, Ana, Helena and Julia open their gifts on Skype.

Christmas Eve was celebrated at Lill’s.  Now you talk about busy.  We definitely were.

Corri is a princess now with  her favorite princess Snow white.

We got back to Florida and worked three days before the end of the year but we were lucky enough not to work New Year’s Eve.

We took a small trip to south of Fort Lauderdale, a small town called Hollywood.  We stayed at a Ramada there which is an old hotel but has so much class.  We love the town and walked down main street and picked out a restaurant from their numerous ones for a great meal.  We had one afternoon where we could go to the beach.  It rained and was cloudy the rest of the time. 

We golfed one day last week.  It is the first time we have golfed since last spring and wouldn’t you know the day was very cold.  We dressed warm and headed out and had a great time.  We did not do too bad for not golfing for so long. We continue to play pickle ball, bowl and see movies in our spare time.
